Hi there, I’m a 31 year old woman who is thinking about starting a family.
I’m struggling to interpret the results of my fertility tests. I tested on the third full flow day of my period (but I spotted 4 days before the first full flow day). My AMH came back as 1.3, FSH was 7.2, and my estrogen is 71.96.
I understood from my fertility specialist that my AMH is on the low side for my age and that even though my FSH is normal, the number combined with a higher estrogen level (which she said was over 65) means my ovarian reserve is declining faster than it should be.
Could anyone help interpret these results? Has anyone had similar results to me and still been successful conceiving naturally?How worried should I be?
Thanks so much!

hello! I'm 28 and my AMH is 2.1 so similar to yours. I have not been able to conceive yet naturally in about a year and a half (one early miscarriage at 5 weeks in October after about 12 cycles of trying). however, I think my reason for AMH being low is possibly silent endometriosis which also affects your egg quality and uterus receptability to progesterone. I also have 4 to 5 days of spotting before my period. because I'm a little older and want sever children, my husband and I decided to go straight into IVF since we have an insurance benefit and don't want to waste the funds on failed IUIs. plus since we want multiple kids (we are thinking 3) we fiugre it's best to be a little more aggressive after trying for about a year and a half. ultimately, everyone's journey is different, but my dr. recommended IUI first if I only wanted 1 kid because it would mean we have more time for trial and error, but since we want a few, she recommended jumping into IVF so we have some in the bank since my reserve is dropping faster than expected for my age.

I am older with DOR and now trying for my second. I wish that when I first got the diagnosis I would have went to IVF to have embryos now. Just food for thought. I got my first through a super iui is what my doctor called it. I tried 3 rounds of clomid then went to injections.

Hi, I’m 34 and my AMH is 1 and my FSH was 17. I conceived naturally twice in the last 7 months, both on the first try, but both ended in miscarriage. My doctor said it indicates that my egg number is low but doesn’t necessarily affect my ability to get pregnant naturally. It just means I have less time to do so. He told me to keep trying for 3 months and if it doesn’t happen naturally we can try clomid.

@kkats22,
do you know what clomid does for AMH? I’m 35 and just found out yesterday my AMH is 0.226 which is super low and I feel like I’ll never be able to get pregnant at this point

@Ns211,
I could be wrong because I don’t know too much about it, but from what my doctor said, my egg number is low meaning that my ovaries don’t have as many eggs per cycle. This cycle I had about 6 or 7 per ovary and he said 10-12 is more average. So clomid makes you release more eggs I think in hopes that you will be more likely to have a good one (or two) that mature? Like I said, definitely not a expert, but that was my understanding of it.
